Prenatal Yoga
Zsuzsanna Szekeres
The session begins with an opening circle, where expectant mothers share their current stage of pregnancy and mention any physical symptoms that need to be considered during the class. Following this, there is a short tuning-in session, during which breathing and visualization exercises help the mother-to-be connect with her baby.
After establishing this connection, the body is gently warmed up with soft movements, preparing for strengthening, stretching, and relaxing asanas. These poses are tailored to the trimester of the pregnancy and take into account any physical symptoms the mothers are experiencing.
Next, a 10-minute pelvic floor exercise follows, activating the pelvic floor muscles. The class concludes with a 10-minute relaxation session, promoting a deeper bond between mother and baby.
How Can Prenatal Yoga Help?
Through the calming practice of prenatal yoga, expectant mothers learn to perceive and interpret the signals from their bodies and their babies. This awareness is essential for a healthy pregnancy, effective labor, and an "easier" delivery.
It is proven that expectant mothers who regularly practice prenatal yoga experience their pregnancy and childbirth more consciously, gain confidence, and alleviate their fears.
